CARRERA PROFESIONAL
Licenciado en Psicología por la Universidad de Salamanca (promoción 1991-1996), es Máster en Intervención en la Ansiedad y el Estrés por la UCM (1996-1998) y Doctor en Psicología (2003), también por la UCM, obteniendo su tesis doctoral el premio extraordinario de esa promoción. Inicio su actividad docente como profesor asociado en el Dpto. de Psicología Básica (Procesos Cognitivos) de la UCM, pero a partir del año 2000 y hasta la actualidad imparte su docencia en el Dpto. de Psicología de la Universidad Camilo José Cela -UCJC- en las asignaturas de Psicología de la Emoción y la Motivación, y en Psicopatología, participando también como docente en distintos másteres de diversas universidades nacionales. En la UCJC ha ocupado distintos cargos de responsabilidad académica, siendo Director del Dpto de Psicología de la UCJC (2006-2008 y 2013-2016) y Decano de la Facultad de Educación (2016-2019) y de la Facultad de Salud (2008-2013, 2019-2022),y actualmente es catedrático de psicología de la UCJC y Director de la Escuela Internacional de Doctorado de esta universidad.
La actividad investigadora ha girado en torno a la relación entre procesos cognitivos y respuestas emocionales, y su aplicación a distintos contextos, especialmente de salud, pero también en contextos educativos y sociales. Fruto de esa actividad son los más de 90 artículos publicados en revistas científicas indexadas con impacto, que le han permitido obtener 3 sexenios de investigación por la CNEAI. Ha dirigido una docena de tesis doctorales, participado en comisiones de evaluación de proyectos de investigación públicos y privados, revisor habitual en distintas revistas científicas y miembro de diversas sociedades científicas.
