Camilo José Cela University and HM Hospitales have combined their extensive knowledge and extensive experience in an innovative university training project in Health Sciences. A project that emerges from the firm conviction of the need to evolve and take a step forward in training and knowledge transfer to future health professionals, where hospitals are fundamental axis and backbone of a new type of education in health.
Thus, the UCJC HM Hospitales School of Health Sciences is born.
Boosting knowledge. Academic and healthcare excellence Boasting a solid foundation of technological and human resources, HM Hospitales has trained a large number of students in medicine and other degrees, while Camilo José Cela University brings with it a guarantee of academic rigour.
A tailored approach adapted to the needs of each student, with a commitment to quality with smaller groups, active professionals and content adapted to reality. Training future health professionals in a practical clinical health setting.
A new way of imparting knowledge, integrating practices from the beginning and a focus on teamwork in a multidisciplinary and transversal way. Training is supervised using the integrated HM Hospitales management model, with all hospitals operating under the same management.
Cutting-edge and first-person research, with the opportunity of taking advantage of the technology and facilities necessary to be part of the advancement of medicine and health.
As dean, I am delighted to welcome you to the UCJC HM Hospitales School of Health Sciences website. We currently offer degrees in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Dentistry and the interfacultative degree in Technology and Biomedical Computer Engineering. We will start offering degrees in Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmacy and Genetics in the 2022-23 academic year. In addition, we offer several dozen official and UCJC master’s degrees. This academic offering pivots on three axes: Healthcare, well-being and technology.
As you can see, this is a large-scale transversal project that will mark the future of hundreds of students. We aspire to enrich the healthcare offering in the Madrid Region and to provide specific value in the field of bio-healthcare professions, in addition generating a major economic impact.
Thanks to the promoters of this university initiative, HM Hospitales and Camilo José Cela University, we are witnessing the dawn of a new teaching model that emerges from the teaching hospital model that, for the first time, combines insights from new technology, health data and artificial intelligence in its students education. Concepts that will undoubtedly mark, mould and define the healthcare professions of the future.
Therefore, we are pioneers in applying this strategy with which we pursue excellence and obtain new competent health professionals, in a job field that already has an extremely high demand and that will increase exponentially in the coming years.
I am proud and honoured to accept this responsibility as a personal challenge. With your indispensable collaboration, I hope to achieve the objectives we have set ourselves; I believe we all make up the UCJC HM Hospitales School of Health Sciences.
Wishing you all the best I am always at your disposal,
Dr. José Barberán
