Introduction to Housekeeping

The students on the Introduction to Housekeeping course learn how to succeed in the luxury industry, assimilating the necessary knowledge to work as true service professionals for luxury clients, providing interior management or housekeeping to the most exquisite guests.

Aimed at

Aimed at young people who want to get their first job in the nautical sector. It gives them the opportunity to work, practice languages, working in a safe environment with very strict security protocols for COVID.

Objectives

To train students in the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to successfully undertake their professional housekeeping functions on cruise ships and luxury yachts, as well as correctly manage their daily relationship with the rest of the departments and service providers.

Methodology

The course will take place on the Cervantes Saavedra, a practical campus that has 20 cabins, laundry and several rooms. The Cervantes Saavedra is docked in the Marina of Valencia next to the City of Arts and Sciences.

The course will feature theoretical presentations and practical sessions with material provided in the course individually and in groups.

The training is visual and practical, favouring the association of fundamental concepts with images related to housekeeping on luxury yachts.

It would be desirable for each student to do the course with their personal computer or tablet.

On-the-job training

The UCJC Centre for Maritime Studies has a job and internship exchange.

Job outlets

In this course we train butlers, property managers, executive personal assistants and guest experience who work in villas, hotels and grand luxury resorts, as well as hostesses for cruises and luxury megayachts with a high level of personal demand, care, exquisiteness and attention to detail.
