The application for validation, adaptation, or recognition of prior studies is a free process that is handled exclusively via email with the corresponding academic departments.
The request for Validation/Recognition or Adaptation of studies does not imply an Application for Admission. It is advisable to submit the request well in advance to determine which subjects the student will not need to retake.

Requirements
Degree and Academic Certification with the final average grade (0–10) of previous qualifications.
Accreditation of professional experience related to the degree to be pursued:
- Company certificate duly signed and stamped specifying their functions.
- Updated Work History and/or Service Record Report
Any official document that can be used (Master’s Degrees, own Degrees…)

Application Process
In order to officialize your Acknowledgements and have them added to your file, all the necessary documentation must be checked. To do so, you have two options:
- Send it by ordinary mail, notarized.
- Deliver the original documents in person to the UCJC Department of Recognition so that they can be checked.
Deadlines
The deadline for the application for Credit Recognition will be:
- October 31st
- March 31 (only for Second Semester students)
Within 48 hours the Acknowledgements Department will respond to you if the documentation is complete or if any document is missing.
In approximately 2 days (except for summer periods) you will receive by e-mail a previous report that will help you to know which subjects will be recognized. During vacation periods the term will be extended to 72 hours.

- Students coming from FP/CFGS – 500€.
- Graduate students for professionals at no cost, except students of the School of Architecture – 750€.
- In-person undergraduate students from other universities – free of charge
- Students of the Degree Adaptation Courses (CAG) – free of charge
- Recognition for professional experience or own degree (max 15% ECTS Degree)- 500€.
*If the cost of the surveys is less than the fee, 25% of the value of the credit will be paid.

- Recognition of European Degree: The student applies to the UCJC for the recognition of subjects of a European degree equal to or different from the one he/she studied at the university of origin. In the case of a UCJC degree, the maximum number of credits recognized will be 15% of the total, unless the corresponding UCJC degree has been terminated and replaced by an official degree.
In bachelor’s degrees, credits corresponding to End of Degree Projects and Master’s Degrees may not be recognized.
- Recognition by FP: All those degrees that have signed with the Community of Madrid the addendum established for this purpose for different degrees of higher level training cycle, may recognize what is established in the same being, in this case, higher than 30 ECTS. In cases of lesser recognition, the Recognition Committee is responsible for considering the adequacy of the contents to the different degree subjects.
- Recognition for work experience: The student may request recognition in the form of ECTS credits, i.e., only for pursuing a European degree, of his/her work and professional experience, provided that such experience is related to the competencies inherent to the degree he/she wishes to pursue. This recognition may never exceed 15% of the total number of credits that make up the desired curriculum.
The student applies to UCJC for the validation of subjects from a different degree (diploma or official degree), which he/she was taking at his/her home university.
The student requests the UCJC to adapt subjects of the same degree (diploma or official degree) of the one he/she was taking at his/her home university.
