International philosophy
Our goal is to provide you with the opportunity to live an international experience, both at UCJC and abroad.
Discover the meaning of internationalization on campus, through activities with our international community, and abroad, as you travel and learn about other cultures. This experiential and global education model has a transformative impact, leading you to develop professional skills that are essential to your future. We believe that having an international experience, discovering other essential subjects and professions in a global and constantly evolving economy, is key to the development of intercultural and global minds. We live in an increasingly globalized world, with new challenges that require innovation, open-mindedness and communication skills. Enjoy an international education on campus and abroad through our programs.
Our campus is open to all languages and cultures; we are a learning community that believes that “knowledge is freedom”. For this reason, we encourage all kinds of initiatives through our LanguageLab, to share ideas and learn from each other, while having fun together. The three lines of action developed by the LanguageLab and with which we want to promote the internationalization strategy within our campuses are: English as the main language for communication, our Fulbright teaching assistants as intercultural providers, and language learning as the main pillar of intellectual growth and open-mindedness.
Our language policy encourages you to experience different cultures and think in languages other than Spanish. We focus on improving the use of English as a lingua franca for the personal, social, academic and professional development of all of you. In our university degrees, English is used as a teaching medium progressively incorporated into the teaching and learning of academic content.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistants
To facilitate this linguistic and cultural immersion, Fulbright teaching assistants from the United States assist professors in their teaching and research, support students by providing tutoring in English, and encourage on-campus living through student clubs.
Our Fulbright teaching assistants lead the International Club, where they conduct activities such as language exchanges, cultural events, international food tastings, yoga workshops, and a variety of volunteer and service-learning opportunities that include international topics. They also run the Professional Dialogue Group, a small discussion group that meets twice a month to practice discussing complex topics using professional English.
What is the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant program and how does it work at UCJC?
What are the objectives of our Fulbright grantees in their role as English teaching assistants?
