The runners Anais Doñoro, from Camilo José Cela University, and Daniel Hernando, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, prevailed in the 19th Cross del Rector, part of the Circuito de Cross Universitario de Madrid.
The race was held again after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, as every year, it took place on the Villafranca Campus of Camilo José Cela University.
A total of 149 runners took part in the competition, enjoying a sunny, if cold, morning. The event was opened by Emilio Lora-Tamayo, rector of Camilo José Cela University.
In this edition, the UCJC Rector’s Cross unified the distance to be covered for the male and female categories, establishing it at 6,500 metres. Anais Doñoro, winner in the women’s category, finished with a time of 19:40 minutes, while the winner of the men’s event, Daniel Hernando, finished with a time of 21:30 minutes.
