UCJC organises a meeting between first-year students and former students to help them with their degree and career choices

The Professional Careers Guidance Department has organised Talent UCJC, bringing together professionals and alumni from University Camilo José Cela with students who have begun their studies this year. The aim was for both groups to share experiences, concerns and recommendations so that they can make the most of their time at university and, at the same time, establish relationships that can contribute to their future access to their professional careers.

Taking part in the event were former students including Guadalupe Gonzalez, nurse with over 15 years’ experience and former student from the Master’s Degree in Mountain Rescue Emergency Medicine; José Luis Morato, graduate from Degree in Transportation and Logistics and current Senior Manager Operations Consulting at Everis; Rocío Valdelomargraduate in Psychology and expert in perinatal and child-youth psychology; Véronica Briseida Batallagraduate in Criminology and Security and LawEva M. Calderón, lawyer and former Degree in Law student; Veronica Gil, former student of Degree in Business and Technology; Eduardo Siles, former student of Degree in JournalismFernando Sarmiento y Hector Pilar, former students of Degree in FilmCarlos de la Barrena, Director General of Mad Hat and founding partner of Km. De Pizza, former student of Degree in Event Management; or Pilar Tortosa, also former student from the same degree.

The Vice Rector of UCJC, Mª Ángeles Fernández, welcomed all attendees and the Head of the Professional Careers Guidance Department, Cristina Torres, told them that the meeting’s “objective is for you to share quality time with professionals from your sector and former students of your degree, who are professionals today and who are examples to be followed.”
