The student Marta García world karate champion

Marta García Lozano, third-year student on the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at UCJC has become karate world champion. The girl from Extremadura, who has already become part of the history of Spanish sport, took first place in the under-21 kata category.

The Spaniard defeated the Italian Carola Casale in an exciting final in Santiago, Chile, where the Karate World Cup was held.

The UCJC student received last year the SEK International Sports Academy Award at the ‘Patrocina a un Deportista’ Gala.

University Camilo José Cela is committed to its students’ sports and offers the SEK International Sports Academy programme to elite athletes, with which they can combine their training and competitions with their chosen academic program.

Also this week Beatriz González, UCJC student, has become world padel champion.

Congratulations Marta!
