SEK Education Group and the NGO ‘Por la Sonrisa de un Niño’ (PSE) have organised a fun run and party with the aim of raising awareness on the situation in Cambodia and to raise money for PSE’s main programmes. The event took place at the University Camilo José Cela Villafranca Campus.
The four kilometre long race was divided into two categories. The adult event, starting at 11.00, and another family event, which started at 12.00. All participants were given a bag and the top three adult finalists were also given a prize. All the participants of the family event were given a medal.
To liven up the day, there was also a street market with PSE Le cartable de Chenda merchandising and Cambodian handicrafts, music, games and activities for children, with a bouncy castle, two twenty minutes zumba classes and a Hawaiian bar.
The mission of the NGO Por la Sonrisa de un Niño (PSE) is to end extreme poverty in Cambodia, ensuring children can access education so that they then go on to better quality and better paid jobs in the future. The vision of PSE is for every child to access the highest quality education possible so that they can take part in building a sustainable and fairer world. SEK Education Group has organised, in the last year, fun runs at different SEK schools with the aim of raising funds for this great initiative.
