Rolando Grimaldo, Head of the Criminology Department at University Camilo José Cela, was the international guest-speaker at the 6th Porto Criminology Week, an event organised by the Instituto Superior Da Maia – ISMAI, and which took place between 15 and 17 May.

The conference was attended well-known Portuguese keynote speakers, both from academia and professional criminologists, who gave several talks addressing different criminology topics that were of great interest to future criminologists.
The event ended with a panel entitled “Criminological Paradigms in the Iberian Peninsula”, featuring Dr Manuel Simas Santos, coordinator of Criminology at the host university, on the topic entitled “The Portuguese Case”, and Rolando Grimaldo, with his presentation “Mixed methodology of criminal analysis: procedure to reduce the two-dimensional effects of crime”.
This presentation demonstrated, among other aspects, the importance of criminal analysis as a tool available to criminologists, and with which they can analyse specific problems and offer tangible solutions.
