The UCJC Sports Club hosted the 2018 6th Spanish University Horse-riding Championship, which took place in the sports facilities of University Camilo José Cela from 20 to 22 April. During the weekend the Individual Dressage and Individual Obstacle Jumping events were held, as well as giving medals to the best teams in the championship.
In the Individual Dressage test, Carolina Díaz García, of San Pablo CEU University, won the gold medal, while the silver medal went to María José Vidal Romero, of the Catholic University of Valencia, and the bronze went to Elena Márques Cáceres, from Rey Juan Carlos University.
In the Individual Obstacle Jump, Gema Aparicio Pérez, from the University of Valencia, won the gold medal in the test, Paula Nieto Carpio, from IE University, won the silver medal and Santiago Núñez Riva, from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas , the bronze
In the Team Classification, the riders of the University of Valencia-Vicente Morel Amat, Gemma Belén Aparicio Pérez and Javier Ros López- won the gold medal. The silver medal went to the team of the San Pablo CEU University, made up of Carolina Díaz García, María Gil Díaz and Leticia Riva Gil. Finally, the bronze went to Elena Márques Cáceres, Antonio Márquez and Carolina Marsá Wamsteker, members of the Rey Juan Carlos University team.
The UCJC Sports Club has hosted important horse racing events in recent years, such as the Princess of Asturias Trophy, the SUZUKI Cup and the Poni Club Grand Prize. In addition, it will organise the Princess of Asturias trophy this year, which will take place next October.
