Camilo José Cela University has presented the book Cela, Cien Años Más, at its Almagro Campus. The book features twenty-two speeches given at the International Symposium on Camilo José Cela, held between 17 and 19 May 2016 at UCJC, marking the centenary of the birth of the Spanish writer and Nobel Literature Laureate.
Adolfo Sotelo, Director of the Camilo José Cela Chair of Hispanic Studies, hosted the event presenting the book which he co-edited, alongside Sonia Betancort, lecturer of Language and Literature at UCJC and Alba Guimerà, member of the research project team “Hacia la obra completa de Camilo José Cela”.
The twenty-two articles reflect the character and work of Camilo José Cela, who Adolfo Sotelo defined as ‘multifaceted’, due to the Galician author’s many sides, going well beyond literature.
The event was also addressed by Nieves Segovia, President of SEK Education Group and Samuel Martín-Barbero, Rector of Camilo José Cela University, who remembered the Nobel Laureate and his influence on Spanish literature and education.
