Miguel Evangelio, UCJC student, runner up in the European Golf University Tournament

Miguel Evangelio, studying the second year of his Sports Science and Physical Activity Bachelor’s Degree at Camilo José Cela University, has taken second place in the European University Golf tournament, after a tie breaker with Víctor Pastor, from the University of Málaga, one of the other Spanish golfers taking part in the tournament, who took first place with 195 strokes (62+71+62), nine under par, tied with Miguel Evangelio.

Evangelio is also a member of the SEK International Sports Academy, helping high-performance athletes combine their studies at SEK Education Group – SEK Schools and Camilo José Cela University – with high-performance sports.

The tournament, held between 10 and 15 of September at the Czech city of Liberec, also featured the participation of Idoia Mendiguren, studying the joint Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science and Physical Activity and Physiotherapy, who came in 17th place.

The championship also featured golfers from other leading European universities, such as Stirling University (UK), University of St. Andrews (UK), the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) and the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (Ireland).
