Camilo José Cela University and CF Talavera have signed a collaboration agreement making UCJC the official sponsor of the football team. The signing took place in Talavera de la Reina in the presence of the president and director of the local body IPETA, Arturo Castillo and Miguel Ángel García; the president of CF Talavera, José Antonio Dorado; the Corporate Director General of the SEK Education Group, Concha Canoyra; and the Deputy Rector of UCJC, Javier Sierra.
As well as a substantial financial contribution to CF Talavera, the agreement includes various commitments by Camilo José Cela University to develop academic and sports programmes in Talavera, and enable student interns to contribute to improving the training and preparation of the players. Several different internship programmes will be introduced in physiotherapy and psychology courses, and other disciplines relating to sports.
Camilo José Cela University will also offer discounted enrolment to all the players in the different categories, members of the club and their children, who want to begin university studies.
The first team and the other line-ups will display the Camilo José Cela University logo on their shirts, and it will also appear in various areas of the stadium.
The Deputy Rector of UCJC, Javier Sierra, emphasises that the university “has found a very special affinity with Talavera Town Council. This will enable us to establish shared activities in different areas of research, which we will be firming up over the coming months”. For his part, Arturo Castillo said that “this agreement enhances the relationship between the two institutions and strengthens them for the future”.
