The University Camilo José Cela has signed an agreement with the San Viator school of Bogotá, Colombia, to foster the training of teachers in the three International Baccalaureate Organisation (IB) programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).
The programme will commence in January of the coming year with in-person training for teachers, who will continue with distance learning through the Specialist Course in International Education.
The IB accredits universities to teach qualifications that are in line with their educational principles and methods and are inspired by their international education approach, awarding students with IB teaching and learning certificates and IB management certificates.
The agreement was signed this morning by the Rector of San Viator school, father Albeyro, and the school’s IB coordinator, Diego Córdoba. Juan Padilla, General Secretary of the University Camilo José Cela, signed on behalf of the university.
This agreement will also lead to new lines of educational research and training through the Master’s Degree in International Education and Bilingualism and the Master’s Degree in Educational Centre Management.
