Camilo José Cela University has signed an agreement to renew the Rafael del Pino Chair. The agreement was signed at the UCJC Almagro building, with the attendance by Samuel Martín-Barbero, Rector of Camilo José Cela University; Vicente Montes, Director of the Fundación Rafael del Pino and Pedro Schwartz, Professor of the Rafael del Pino Chair at UCJC.
The Rafael del Pino Chair aims to promote research and studies on economics and humanism through different initiatives. It therefore affords a university forum for debate for professionals and scientists from these fields.
The Chair promotes the organisation of conferences at Camilo José Cela University and the Fundación Rafael del Pino given by specialists in these topics. It will also enable collaboration, from a teaching standpoint, on cross-curricula knowledge (The Hive) and in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at UCJC
Some of the initiatives held as part of the agreement between UCJC and the Fundación Rafael del Pino include directing doctoral thesis as part of the Economics and Law Doctorate Programme; collaboration on the design of the academic offering; academic agreements with institutions of international renown and providing advisory services for hiring of international teaching staff in line with the new model adopted by UCJC.
UCJC Extraordinary Chairs currently hosted by Camilo José Cela University include the Rafael del Pino Chiar; the Ferrán Adrià Chair in Gastronomic Culture and Food Science; the Camilo José Cela Chair on Hispanic Studies; the Felipe Segovia Chair for Learning Innovation; the Chair in Maritime Studies; the Chair on Social Development and the Marqués de Samaranch Olympic Chair.
